~About Me~

Hello friend!

I'm so glad you found your way to my blog!  First, let me introduce myself.  I'm Sarah and I'm a 20-something year old Roman Catholic who has been discerning her vocation since graduating high school.  I love all things faith, family, modesty, singing, Latin, making friends, acting, kniting, and coloring.  I started blogging at The Life of a Homeschooler and currently blog over at In Cordibus Jesu et Mariae.

I wanted to create this blog firstly, because I'm not homeschooled anymore, secondly, because I wanted to share with you my next adventure in discerning God's plan for my life.  He has a unique plan for every single person on this earth, including YOU!  Especially you!!  He wants what's best for you in order that you may be happy with Him forever in Heaven.  Hopefully, we can discern God's plan together.

The name of this blog, "His Voice is Sweet", is based on a song written and performed by the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles.

He calls to me and I will follow Him
Wherever He leads I will go
His voice is sweet and He is so desirable
This is my friend and my beloved.

I've listened to this song for years and always loved it.  It seemed to always remind me that God calls each and every one of us so personally to the life He has chosen for us.

On this blog, I hope to share my vocation discernment journey, helpful info, stories, and reflections.  At first, I thought maybe I shouldn't create a blog because I didn't want to glorify myself or have it be a cause of vanity hoping that I'd get more comments or followers.  But I believe this isn't about me anymore.  God wants to use my story, hardships, adventures, and life to inspire and help others.  No matter who you are, I hope this blog will be a place of encouragement to you.  If you so desire, please share it with your friends!

So what vocation am I actually discerning, you might ask.  Well, ever since I was about 10 I've thought I've heard the call to be a religious sister and bride of Christ.  This has taken a few different forms throughout the years, but I've always had a great love and wonderful friendship with the Carmelites.  I don't know exactly what God is calling me to yet, whether it be cloistered, or active, teaching or contemplative, Carmelite, or some other order, but I'm learning day after day, over and over again, to place my trust in Him.  It is certainly not easy, and I haven't mastered it yet.  But with Our Lord's help and Our Lady's grace, slowly, day by day, I am being taught the virtues of listening, obeying, and patience.

Thank you for reading, and I hope you'll keep me in your prayers as you are always in mine.  Hopefully you'll find something on this blog that speaks to your heart.  May God bless you and keep you!

~Sarah
